NAIAS 2015: Mercedes
Mercedes made headlines with its F 015, an ambitious self-driving hydrogen concept car. Its unique design received a lot of attention, and its lounge-style seating has four rotating seats. The full name, F 015 Luxury in Motion, seems more like a headline than a proper name, but this car will never see production.
NAIAS 2015: Chevy
The Bolt EV is still a concept, but Chevy hopes to turn it into a production model in the next few years. It is an all-electric car with a 200-mile range and $30k sticker price.

BMW showed off changes to the 2015 6 Series in Detroit. While only a minor update, the facelift brings a subtle new look to the line. The coupe, Gran Coupe, and convertible bodies will all receive the new design, but engine options will remain unchanged.

The 2016 HR-V is an upcoming subcompact crossover from Honda, and it is based on the same platform as the Fit. It will have front-wheel and all-wheel drive models and should go on sale this spring. HR-V stands for Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle.

The 2016 Toyota Tacoma made its debut in Detroit. While the outgoing Tacoma has been the best-selling midsize pickup for ten years, it had no real competition. Newcomers Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon hope to win some of the segment back.

Land Rover brought their new Discovery Sport to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The compact SUV is the replaces the aging LR2/Freelander, and it will go on sale this spring as a 2016 model. Starting price will be under $40k.

The 2016 Volvo XC90 T6 R-Design was announced a few months ago, but the 2015 North American International Auto Show marks it US debut. Finished in a striking matte blue, the R-Design adds some style, but no engine upgrades above the standard model. The aggressive front end, giant 20-inch wheels (22s are optional), silver trim, and the dual exhausts are the R-Design giveaways.
