NAIAS 2014: Ford Takes Over Cobo

Ford’s display at Cobo Center was by far the largest of all automakers attending the Detroit show. The headliner was the all-new 2015 F-150, and their show floor was so large, they even brought in an assembly line to show the F-150 in various stages of production. With over 66,000 square feet of floor space, they still had plenty of room to give the Mustang a prominent display as well.

NAIAS 2014: Toyota has Colorful Concepts

Between the red FT-1, blue FCV, and color-changing FV2, Toyota’s concept vehicles were full of color. Making the biggest waves was the FT-1, Toyota’s newest concept that is literally straight out of a video game.

NAIAS 2014: Mercedes-Benz

Several new Mercedes models were on display in Detroit, including their 2015 C-Class Sedan, GLA 45 AMG, and new S-Class. The biggest seller will likely be the new C-Class, which will hit dealerships this fall.

NAIAS 2014: Porsche 911 Targa Debuts in Detroit

The Porsche booth in Detroit was full of silver vehicles, except for a select few that were the highlight of the show. Making its world debut was the new 911 Targa. Offered only with all-wheel drive, the Targa 4 and 4S are said to be available this summer with a six-figure base price.

NAIAS 2014: Kia GT4 Stinger Concept, K900 Sedan on Display

Kia revealed their GT4 Stinger Concept for the first time in Detroit. While it is only a concept with no plans of production, it does hint that a rear-drive sports car may be on the way. The Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S are likely to be its main competitors if/when it gets made, likely still a few years away.

NAIAS 2014: Jaguar Land Rover Boast Impressive Sales Growth

The big news from the Jaguar Land Rover camp was their record sales last year. Worldwide sales jumped 19% in 2013, with an increase of 21% in North America and 30% in Asia.
